Hello all!
First of all, thank you all so much for a wonderful album release show at Mercury Lounge! Thank you also to Suddenland, Ra Ra Rasputin and Pacific Theater for sharing the stage with us. You are all amazing!
So we got up at the crack of dawn this morning to leave for Chicago. Not really. Will and I left my place at 12pm and loaded up the Blue Torch. Took an absurdly long time picking up Nadia, and then an even longer time getting out of the city. I did get a nice picture of the Freedom Tower, though (while driving, no less).
We got into New Jersey and realized we were starving so we found the Budd Lake Diner in New Jersey somewhere. Many butt jokes ensued. We were also puzzled by the hilarious and disturbing adverts on the paper place mats.
The food itself was ok. I mean, nothing like the Somerset Diner in PA, but then again, that is a damn fine establishment. Those fries were pretty good though. Will's zucchini sticks we're amazing.
I took the first leg of the driving into PA, and then promptly passed out after I took this picture.
It started down-pouring soon afterwards. It seems to always rain when Will is driving. I fell asleep for a couple hours and woke up drooling. It was pouring rain. And we were still in PA. Sucked.
We finally made it into Ohio some time after 10pm. We decided to forge on to Cleveland so we can visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame tomorrow morning. I really want to see Slash’s hat. Wear it, if possible.
We found a good deal on a Red Roof Inn, which is where we are staying right now. We are watching Bring It On, Again. Or rather, the other two are sleeping and I am watching it.
We went to Perkin’s for dinner. I’d never eaten at one before. It’s just like a Denny’s. The best parts were the sides. The spinach was delicious. The fried-food sampler thing made me want to kill myself afterwards. Although those green beans were delicious.
I think I’ll go vegetarian for the rest of the tour. Well, maybe until we get to Chapel Hill. I want to eat barbecue.
God, this movie is horrible.
